Enchanted all weekend...

This weekend was awesome...my boyfriend and I went to Raleigh North Carolina to see the Kenny Chesney concert...he was playing at the ampitheatre with Gretchen Wilson and Pat Green. We drove up Friday night after work for the concert on Saturday...and it was awesome! The concert started at 7, but we got to the concert around 5 when the gates opened to get a good lawn seat...while we were sitting there waiting for the show to start, the best part happened...Mike got down on one knee and proposed! So of course I said yes...and the rest of the night was a blur...the concert was awesome...I would see Kenny 100 times more...but it was so much more awesome what Mike did for me! So we are thinking of a wedding next fall...so everyone keep your date books open...So my weekend was awesome...between a mini vacation and a start of a lifetime...I can't say it gets much better than that! I put some pics up from the concert...

Disney Updates...

Well, its been a long time since my last update, so I have a lot of writing to get done...I will start where I left off: Disney World.... We were in Disney in mid-June, and it was quite hot out there! I know I am a beach girl but it seemed so much hotter in Florida...without the beneifts of a suntan! Nonetheless the trip was enjoyable....the trip down took 2 hours too long, but then again Dad was driving....we were staying at the Pop Century Resort at Disney....the hotel has differnet building that are decorated with different decades. Much to my Dad's delight we stayed in the 50's which had a bowling theme - we swam in a bowling pin shaped pool and were surrounded my oversized bowling shoes and such.

First night down we went to Downtown Disney which is a large shopping complex with various shops, many Disney themed. The next few days consisted of the typical park hopping...the rides were fun...and surprisingly we didn't have to wait very long...my favorite park of course is the Magic Kingdom. We got to see the parade with fireworks...very exciting...Overall the trip was great....we had a lot of good family time together...and took tons of pics! Check them out below...

Thats right the Scher family is headed to Disney World for the weekend....my littlest brother Steven has decided to join the Marines...and Dad thought it would be nice for one last family vacation....Lisa is flying down to Orlando to meet us...and the rest of us will be packed into Mom's van....wish us all luck with that one! (thank goodness her van has the DVD player in it). Anyhow I am rather excited about the trip...our family hasn't been to Disney in years...and it will be fun for all of us to go together again before we all go our separate ways...

We have plans to leave bright and early at 5 AM tomorrow and will be back somtime Monday...so I will be heading off to bed...but check back next week for Disney updates and pics!

I realized that those of you who read my posts may not know much about me...so I thought I would go ahead and update you with some info on my life...as most know I live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina...although I was born in Illinois...I am truly a Carolina Girl at heart...I love the beach and would be there more often if the rain would hold up some...anyhow I went to Coastal Carolina University for four years to get my Bachelor's Degree in finance...I didn't start out as a finance major....I actually changed my major 4 times...but was very happy with my choice in finance...as dorky as it sounds I love finance! I have been dating my boyfriend Mike for two and a half years...and things with him are WONDERFUL...he works with Pepsi Bottling Group as a merchandiser...so be sure to drink lots of Pepsi for us! I am a sucker for the color PINK...and I love anything of the color...and I have an addiction I guess you would say for picture frames...in my little room alone I have over 100...thats right...and I keep buying them...soon I am going to need a room for just my pictures...I love to read...and now that I am out of school I can read something different from an annual report...if you have read any good books let me know...I am always looking for something new to read...I guess that is enough blabbering about myself...I just wanted to let you guys know a little more about me....and I think I did just that...I will post more next week when I start my new job :) Wish me luck

Take me out to the ballgame...

To get into the start of summer, Mike and I headed out to the Coastal Federal field for one of the Pelican's games. It poured rain for the first half hour, but it turned out to be a great evening for a baseball game. While it was no Cubs game, the Pelicans ended up winning 3-2 against the Wilmington Blue Rocks...

The best part was after the game with the fireworks...they passed out 3-D glasses prior to the game and it made the show look like kaleidoscope...very awesome. I also got me a new shirt to show my team spirit for the next game.

Not only is this weekend Memorial Weekend, but it is also the Bike Rally weekend. There are thousands of bikers in the area riding around on their street bikes being as loud as they can...its not a good idea to go out...but if you do it makes for an exciting trip. I was out Thursday morning and I saw an older model Chevy Impala parked at IHOP...I noticed there was a mural on the side of the car...I walked across to the parking lot and it was an awesome view of the Chicago city skyline...it showed the John Hancock building and Navy Pier...times like that I wish I had a picture phone!

A Blog is Born....

Since my older and wiser cousins have decided to start blogs and share them with me, I have decided to do the same. As a recent college graduate (I graduated May 7th from CCU with a BS in Finance) I am leaving my current position as a "Reservation Specialist" at Beach Cove Resort and got a job with Coastal Federal Bank. I start June 6th as a teller...I hope its a foot in the door to get me an exciting job in the banking industry....if one exists. Other than that my life isn't too exciting...Christie and Grandma came down for graduation....and we had a good time...I posted some pics from the weekend below. Of course we attended the ceremony on Saturday, and then on Sunday we rented a pontoon boat and coasted up and down the waterway and headed out to Byrd Island...after that adventure we headed home for some barbecue...

Anyhow Christie loved it so much she wants to move down...sounds perfect for me except the ever-controlling Clarks are trying their best to keep her from leaving...heaven-forbid she turn out like me...Nonetheless I enjoyed having some family down for my graduation...I will try to keep everyone updated whenever something exciting occurs in my life...and I hope you enjoy the sneak peak into the Princess Diary.
